Short-term Emergency Placement /Support

The short term emergency placement is to provide emergency placement for children and young people who are looked after but are experiencing a breakdown of their current placement. The need for an emergency or same day placement for a child or young person can be for different reasons such as: Family breakdown, Police Protection Orders, child abandonment, criminal involvement (juvenile courts sometimes remand young people to the care of the local authority).

In the event of placement breakdown we offer 24 hour emergency placement / support. This option is designed to safeguard and care for the child/ young person as a temporary respite for up to a maximum of 28 days while a suitable longer-term placement is put in place for the child/ young person. Our staffs are trained to work with children/young people with challenging behaviour and a range of physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
